Moreover, consumers should realize that these electronic safety systems can only reduce the damage caused by accidents, and are not as supernatural as the manufacturers’ propaganda.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Public Security, 90% of the direct and indirect causes of road traffic accidents occurred last year were human factors. The main inducement of traffic accidents on the roads in China is not technical reasons such as the active and passive safety of vehicles, but mainly caused by non-technical factors, such as drivers’ wrong driving behavior, pedestrians and other traffic participants’ weak safety awareness. So how to ensure driving safety? Wang Hongyan believes that we can start from the following three aspects. Wang Hongyan believes that, from a scientific perspective, not all electronic safety systems in cars must be equipped. The safety performance of German cars is relatively good, which is the result of the design based on the road conditions and the causes of traffic accidents in the country. At present, the School of Automotive Engineering of Tongji University is doing the project of “Research on Road Traffic Safety Accidents in China”. The preliminary study of road traffic safety accidents in Jiading District, Shanghai, shows that the single vehicle accidents in this area account for 3% to 5% of the total. That is because the road situation in China is relatively complex, and the expressway network is not very developed. Most roads are mixed roads with motor vehicles and non-motor vehicles, with many plane traffic and many intersections.
